Once you have typed in the password your browser will remember it for the duration of your browsing session. You can browse through other files in this directory without having to re-enter the password.
You can go to another site and return here without needing the password again. As long as you do not close down your browser. If you do this the browser will forget the password and you will need to type it in again.
